So I had this dream...

September 23, 2012
So the other night I had this dream. The company I worked for was doing well. Really well. So well, in fact, that we ended up leasing the old Ikea warehouse in Richmond. THAT'S how much space we needed for our operations. (On a recent visit back to British Columbia, I discovered the warehouse in question torn down. My subconscious was, ostensibly, not aware of this fact.) So back to my dream. I was the operations manager of this company. I was running the show. I was the head honcho. The "big cheese" if you will. We were busy. We were "we need to set up retractable belt stanchions" busy. We were "we need to set up more retractable belt stanchions" busy. We were "we have run out of retractable belt stanchions and the customers are now pitching tents in the parking lot" busy. Side note: if I ever actually decide to become an entrepreneur and start this business I've invented in my dream, I will need to order lots and lots of retractable belt stanchions. Now, by this point, you may be wondering just what sort of company I worked for that was so popular. Let me tell you. I worked for a bacon rental agency. Here's the business model: I stand there at the grill all day, fry the bacon, wrap it in a little napkin, and hand it to the customer, for their rental. Add some retractable belt stanchions and you're as good as ready to open your doors. I tell you, it's marketing genius. I don't even know why I'm posting this on the internet for all to see. But! Here's the important part. The customer has to BRING THE BACON BACK. Because it is only a RENTAL. I am so totally sure my subconscious has an MBA.
